Principal's Bio

Thank you very much for visiting the Maplesville High School website. I am very thankful to be at Maplesville High School. I know that with the wonderful community, the amazing staff, and our great students, the future is bright for MHS!

In 2003, I graduated from the University of Alabama with a double major in History and Political Science. In 2009, I earned a M.A. from the University of North Alabama in Secondary Education.  In 2015, I earned a Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.

I began my career in education at Austin High School that same year, in charge of the in-school suspension program. For the 2010-2011 school year, I taught 7th and 8th grade Science at Lexington in Lauderdale County. At Lexington, I also began my coaching career as assistant varsity football coach and head JV baseball coach. From 2011 to 2013, I worked at Cherokee High School in Colbert County, serving as a science and history teacher and offensive coordinator for varsity football.

In the spring of 2013, my wife, Mary, received a position with WRCT-TV and we moved to the Chattanooga, TN area. I worked at Ocoee Middle School in Cleveland, TN for four years. While I at OMS, I taught English, Science, and History. I coached baseball, and finished my time there as the head football coach. In 2015, our daughter, Chloe was born and as she became a toddler, we decided to move back to Alabama. In January 2018, I began teaching science at Maplesville High School and am very happy to now be the principal of our wonderful school!

I want to thank all the stakeholders of the Maplesville community for your time and effort in helping our school and our students! Go Devils!
